All you need to know about Diamond shopping!

Here are the C’s that you should look for when buying a diamond.

Cut –
Optical Properties define the beauty of a diamond.

Clarity – The presence or absence of inclusions determine the clarity.

Color – It’s not about the color, it’s about the Lack of it.

Carat weight – Carats is how weight of diamonds and gemstones are measured.

Certification – Put your trust in Certificates; accept only renowned and unbiased IGI or GIA certificates.

Comparison - We want you to shop at Caratstyle but we also want you to know what we are selling is the best, so look in a lot of places before making the buy.

The diamond purchasing checklist…

Do your homeworkBe prepared and know what is it that you are looking for, it’s okay to browse through and then select but at least have an idea of what you are looking for because you absolutely do not want to end up with the wrong diamond.

Buy from a certified jeweller only You obviously do not want to be duped, go only to a certified jeweler selling precious jewellery and providing appropriate certificates for them.
Take your timeInvesting in a diamond is not something you’d do every day so decide carefully.
Invest in the stone The quality or the value of the stone itself never diminishes, the setting or design trends will change but the stone is constant. Buy something you know you can still flaunt a couple years down the line.
Set a Budget While it’s good to check out everything out there make sure you know what your requirements are.  Set a budget and keep it lower than your final number so if you have to, you could splurge.
Know the importance of certification Only accept certified jewellery and certificates from acclaimed laboratories like IGI and GIA, remember that the gold your Diamond is set on should be BIS hallmarked too.
Compare, Compare and Compare Before you purchase the diamond make sure you compare other jewelers and similar designs elsewhere

Mandatory hallmark on gold jewellery, soon!

Whilst the strike being over and the gems and jewelry sales being at an all-time low in the First quarter of 2016 we come bearing good news!

Under the Bureau of Indian Standards act, 2016 there could be a notification coming our way from the government making the hallmarking on gold and silver jewelry mandatory. Here’s too an end to malpractices and unethical resolves. While most of the leading jewelers have already religiously been following the practice of hallmarking gold jewelry for almost a decade now, there are many who look the other way and cheat their customers by selling a lesser volume of gold as 22 karat.

We can expect hallmarking to initially be mandatory in the metro cities and eventually the tier-2 and 3 cities. With about 317 hallmarking centers and constant hallmarking surveillance facilities jewelers should not have to face any problem from getting their jewelery hallmarked.

The Caratstyle team is waiting in anticipation as we understand the relationship between the jeweler and the customer is built completely on trust. We are really hoping that this is not all just speculation and that; we should see action taken in and around September 2016.

You can read more about certifications at papilior here
You can also find Hallmarked  Designer Gold jewellery selections here , these come with 30 day return/exchange policy.
